Free Zoo Admission, Today Only!

Haha, I meant to MY zoo.  Yep, that’s right…I have updated photos of my zoo for you all!  I know you’ve been missing my babies so I thought I’d share some photos with you.

First of all, the zoo LOVES JR!  Oskar is known as “Officer Oskar.”  He’s always on patrol.  He will sit next to JR any chance he gets.  If we walk into a room, Oskar will sweep the perimeter to make sure there are no dangers.  He will also occasionally head butt the dog-cats just to let them know who’s in charge around the baby.  Elvis is always laying next to JR on the couch, and occasionally nuzzles up so close to her that he’s practically sitting on her head.  If she cries and we don’t get to her in time (or what Elvis thinks is time) then Elvis will run over to us and start barking, “She’s broke, she’s broke!  Fix her!  NOW!!”  Uma doesn’t really care about her, but she will lick JR every morning.  Uma usually licks JR’s back, leg or foot but sometimes she sneaks in a lick on the face.  Ew.  Especially since Uma’s breath is so bad!  The dog-cats really could care less about JR and tend to stay out of the way. Dog-cat #2 just recently started laying on my lap while I’m holding JR.  I need a bigger lap!  I’m so happy the zoo likes JR!  They’ve all been around babies and kids before and they adore them.  I wasn’t sure how they’d react to having a baby of their own, around all the time.  But, they love her and it is so sweet to watch them interact with her.

Random Photos Found on my Phone

I was uploading photos from my phone to my computer and I found some good ones to share with you!

K’s cast is off! Look at how wrinkly his hand is! He thinks his hand still smells and he’s mad that I refuse to smell it. Ew.

I have some really great little helpers! They don’t mind modeling and testing sizes for me. I often find dog-cat #2 laying on my unfinished crochet projects. I think he’s telling me to make him something.

It was cold enough to wear slippers last weekend. Not anymore. It’s been in the mid 80s all week. But, this weekend it will be down in the 50s. Good thing I kept my slippers out!

I told k the only thing that would make my hand feel better was this giant pink unicorn. He told me to keep walking. Well, after the photo shoot, of course. Thankfully, the splint is off my hand, the swelling is almost gone, and I am down to 1 band-aid. Woohoo! I’m still milking it to get more time away from dishes duty. Shhh, don’t tell!

It’s a “ruff” life, but someone has to live it.

Thanks for stopping by!  Enjoy your day,

Pug Bombed

Hello {d&k} readers.  The human’s blog has been pug bombed.  We are taking over this week because we feel they do not talk about us enough or show you enough pictures.  That will change.  We (the pugs) declare this Pug Week.

Enjoy.

Check out our handsome faces and try not to nuzzle the screen.

See…the blog already looks better with more photos of us.  I mean, this is the real reason the humans blog.  To show off how cute we are.  Right?!  RIGHT?!

Now, we will be pug bombing the blog all week.  Stop back for more.

Weekend Photo Overload

Hi there, friends!  As promised, here are quite a few photos from last weekend’s festivities. “Quite a few” is an understatement.  Enjoy!

First – The FOOD photos.  Try not to drool.

* Photo 1:  Black bean and cheese quesadillas. Yum.
* Photos 2 & 3:  Burgers from Twisted Root.  K did not want to pose for that photo…he just wanted to start eating.  Haha.  Sorry to delay you, k.
* Photo 4:  Our very large meal from the Mexican restaurant that didn’t have a menu.  No one told us how much food we would get and that we would have been fine sharing 2 meals between the 5 of us.  Oof.  Well, we know now.
* Photos 5 & 6:  More burgers.  And cheese fries.  Bestest had been looking forward to that moment for months.  She was a very happy and full girl.
* Photo 7:  That pizza was goooooood.  I didn’t even get a chance to take a picture before we started grabbing slices.  I almost lost a hand.  We are dangerous pizza eaters.
* Photos 8 & 9:  The best dessert evah.  Ice cream sandwiches!!  You choose 2 cookies (they can be the same or different) and your choice of ice cream and tadaaaa….best ice cream sandwich evah.  Bestest and I made everyone wait before digging in so we could have our photo-op.  We’re nice like that.

Next up – ANIMALS!  {d&k} took everyone to The Stockyards in Fort Worth, where DW could fit right in with his cowboy boots.  We also went to the Dallas Aquarium and had a blast!

* Photos 1 & 2:  D & bestest made friends with some horses at The Stockyards.
* Photo 3 – We met a few cowboys. Yeehaw!
* Photo 4 – We watched the cattle drive reenactment and that was my favorite long horn.  Isn’t he sweet!?
* Photo 5 – Sara fed a bird at the aquarium.  She was warned, “Don’t worry, he won’t bite” and seconds later he was trying to eat her thumb.  I think the aquarium needs to update their disclaimers!
* Photo 6 – My favorite little guy there…a blind penguin!  He was so sweet and didn’t move from that rock.  We were there in time for their feeding and he just waited patiently until the fish was right by his beak.  After he was done, he was tossed in the water for a swim and he just floated around, happy and full.  I really wanted to take him home but I didn’t bring a big enough purse.  Next time.
* Photos 7 & 8 –  The sea turtle and the manatee were very lively this time.  Both were swimming around and even stopped to pose for pictures.  Thanks, guys!!

Lastly – The RANDOMS

* Photo 1 – I am slightly obsessed with tying toys to Elvis’ head.  And then photographing it. I.can’t.help.it.
* Photo 2 – Bestest & {d&k} took their first trip to Half Price Books.  Oh.my.gosh.  Heaven.  K and I got 2 business books, 2 cookbooks (one was $10), and 3 novels for $40.  Are you kidding me?  I will be back, Half Price Books, I will.
* Photo 3 – We just had to have our picture with Elvis.  Not the dog. The King.
* Photo 4 – You know me…I always have to have a cute {d&k} photo in my Photo Overload posts.  You’re welcome.
* Photos 5 & 6 – K was sent to jail. Twice. Bad k, bad.
* Photo 7 – My parents, DW & B.  Aw.
* Photo 8 – K & Bestest mocking my parents.  Awkward.
* Photo 9 – Every once in a while k has to stop and ponder “things”.  Good thing there was a giant spur for him to ponder on.
* Photo 10 – Every once in a while k also has the urge to stop and “pose” with large long horns.  Good thing we were near a large long horn.

Well, friends.  There you have it.  That is what I documented from DW, B, and bestest trip to the Big D last weekend.  I hope you enjoyed looking at all of our fun. And food.

Thanks for stopping by!
Enjoy your day,
{d&k}

Camera Happy

I hope everyone had a great weekend!  {d&k} did.  Ours was super busy, so instead of talking about the entire weekend, I’ll show you in photos.  Yes, I was very camera happy this weekend.  But, I did it all for you, friends!

Enjoy!!

What do you get when you cross a worn out pug and a bed full of hangers and clothes?  A very uncomfortable sleeping arrangement…or so one would think?!

Charlie = 1  Yarn = 0

{d&k} like to play games.  One of our favorites is “Where’s Charlie?”  Your turn.

I made a few special Christmas gifts for friends.  Can’t wait to ship them out tomorrow 🙂

Siamese pugs?

Trying to work while 2 pugs insist on being on my lap.  At the same time.

Finished a DIY curtain project.  Lovely fabric from a fancy fabric store down the street and a canvas drop cloth from Home Depot = super cute curtains!

So happy Martha found me in Texas!  I was worried she wouldn’t make it.  It sort of sounds like Santa trying to find you if you weren’t in your own bed on Christmas Eve.  Martha is my Santa.  Yes, I am only slightly obsessed with her 😉

The Polka Dotted Pug orders galore!  I was a crocheting machine this weekend!!

{d&k} discovered another Mexican restaurant on Friday night and it was fantastic!  This white cheese dip was like a little bowl of cheesy heaven.  Yum.  And, we got to brush up on our Spanish.  Bonus!  (Pato = duck…which is what k ate. Ew.)

Tried a new beer Friday night.  I bet you can’t guess which one it was.  And, it was delicious!

I volunteered at k’s huge event this weekend, Adopt-a-Family, where I got to assemble and decorate their 20-foot Christmas tree.  So fun!  I, of course, had high school minions to do all of my dirty work, which included anything on a ladder.  I don’t do ladders.

k’s school had enough volunteer families to adopt nearly 100 families to give Christmas gifts to this year.  One of the volunteer families donated 38 bikes!  It was an amazing event and now all of these families will be able to open gifts on Christmas Day.

Since it was a beautiful day, and a high of 56* today, we decided to spend it outside decorating our new house for Christmas.  Doesn’t she look great?!

So, that’s it for {d&k} this weekend.  Thanks for stopping by.

Enjoy your day!
