Cuteness Overload

Are you ready for this?  I’m not sure you are.  Prepare yourself for cuteness overload….

Yes, those are tiny baby flip-flops. Are you kidding me?!?! Damn you Old Navy and your cute baby shoes!

IMG_2551
Look at those adorable preppy onesies and those cute little canvas shoes! Damn you Ralph Lauren for having such stinkin’ cute baby clothes! (These were a gift from our shower – how sweet!!)

IMG_2591
Oh.my.gosh. Little baby mittencuffs! Ok, I really just like saying that name. Mittencuffs. Some people say scratch mitts, whatevs. How can you not like the word mittencuffs better?! Anyways, look at how cute it is. This little guy went missing for a few days. I can see why…he’s so tiny! I ended up finding him in the dog bed by the washer. I’m not sure if it fell out and landed in a dog bed, or if a dog really wanted to keep his little paws warm.

Thanks Aunt Sara for these adorable outfits & BGSU onesie! They are so cute! I cannot wait to see what Mini will look like in them!

We like to use Sebastian as our tester. So far, he has approved and enjoyed the stroller and baby carrier. He enjoyed these socks until he had to walk around in them. So, he approves of them only when lying down. Seriously though, how cute does he look in baby socks?!

See, I told you…cuteness overload.  As if the baby flip-flops weren’t enough, I had to go and throw in my dog-cat in socks.  You’re welcome!

Enjoy your day,

It’s May….finally!

Holy cow, it’s finally May. Remember when I said April should fly by because we were so busy? Yeah, it didn’t. It seemed to drag on and on.

Now that it’s May, I can officially say Mini Mullan will be here next month. Oh wow, next month. Who’s excited!?! ME, ME! I’m done being pregnant. I just want our baby. Now. And, it doesn’t help that I’m impatient (thanks for that trait, DW). I really have no idea how I’m going to make it another 6 weeks. Maybe May will fly by!? Haha, probably not. Everyone that has already had kids tells me the last 2 months go by so slow. Well, so far that’s true. And, it doesn’t help that we have everything done and we are just waiting. I should have taken my time on the room, the shopping for necessities, laundry, etc. At least I still have to get the zoo ready. Mainly the dog-cats. This could take awhile too. They are smart but only when they want to be. I have a feeling all of my baby pep talks have gone in one giant ear and out the other. Sebastian’s fluffy ear fur probably blocked everything I said. He’s sort of a mama’s boy and I have a feeling he will have the hardest time with Mini’s arrival. Any suggestions to get a couple of dog-cats ready for a baby?

We do have some fun things coming up in May to look forward to, including K’s birthday! Yay! I love K’s birthday…way more than my own. And, I’m on top of it this year. I’ve already purchased AND wrapped the presents, figured out dessert (for him to take to work – I’ll share pics), his cake, and of course, planned his favorite dinner, mac ‘n cheese.

Anyone else excited that it is finally May? Are you looking forward to nicer weather? I hope everyone has a fantastic May!

Thanks for stopping by! Enjoy your day,

Photos I’ve been meaning to post but have been too lazy to upload from my phone…

I think the title says it all.  It really only takes a minute to plug my phone into my computer and transfer the photos over.  But, there’s this thing called laziness that has taken over me.  So, that “long” walk back to the office, the act of getting the cord out of the drawer and plugging in the phone, then hitting the buttons to transfer the photos really didn’t sound appealing.  Until now.  I felt bad for my blog followers.  I haven’t been keeping up my end of the bargain.  I’ve been letting the photos slip.  So, here you go.  Random photos from my phone, since, well before Christmas.  Enjoy!

Sebastian got his fancy pants brushed. He was very excited to show them off for you. He spent the whole day strutting his stuff around the house. Who knew…brushing your fancy pants makes you feel sexy. Go Sebastian, go!

IMG_2213
K helped me make Christmas cookies. One recipe called for K to mix the peanut butter and other ingredients by hand. K thought it would be a good idea to let the pups help him clean the peanut butter off his fingers. Meanwhile, I had no idea this was happening and I just hear lots of little girly giggles. I walk to the other side of the island to find this. Yes, it really was this gross. And, K is terrified of animal mouths. What possessed him to let the pugs lick his fingers?! And poor Oskar’s nubby teeth don’t allow for easy peanut butter pick up, so he bites. Poor K. Poor Oskar. Happy, fat Elvis.

Sworn enemies become best friends when it’s cold outside. Especially if your sworn enemy is as furry as Sebastian. Who needs a blanket?!

IMG_2215
Oskar’s newest trick is to jump on the couch and hide in the pillows when we’re not looking. Then, he will wiggle down low so we can’t see him, or so he thinks. Too bad we can see him and he’s just so darn cute that we let him stay up there.

IMG_2239
Oskar found the perfect way to sleep. Body in one bed, head in another.

He also perfected the proper tail placement when sleeping:

Tails need to be comfortable too. Especially cute little chubby ones.

IMG_2258
I made a new blanket for K’s parents for Christmas. It was a lot of fun making it. Not so much fun sewing it all together. Especially when all Elvis wants to do is run through it.

Here’s the finished product, all sewn together:
IMG_2260
I took a 2 week break from crocheting after this. I might make another blanket like this someday. Once I forget how long it took to sew together. Maybe.

IMG_2264
We saw the fattest squirrel ever at K’s parents cabin. Huge.  And, she would chase away any other squirrels that tried to eat from the feeder. That’s my kind of squirrel. We don’t share. Get your own food.

IMG_2294
I got to meet this handsome little man for the first time over Christmas. Isn’t he adorable?! And, that’s a pretty stylish shirt, if I do say so myself. Yes, I bought it for him, if you couldn’t guess.

IMG_2229
The game is…Where’s Oskar?!

Well, that’s what you missed the last few weeks. Nothing too exciting. Sorry about that. And sadly, the photos are mostly of the animals. I can’t help it, they are just so darn cute. Plus, in a few months you will have baby overload so enjoy the animal photos now!

Next up is a fantastic dose of Inappropriate or Awesome. Get excited!

Enjoy your day,

What You Missed

Hello friends!

I have a treat for you….I actually took a lot of pictures over the weekend.  Aren’t you proud?!  And happy?!  Of course you are.

Well, let’s not delay.  Here you go….

We went to the Fort Worth Music Fest on Friday night. We had a great time, even though it was raining! And, we got to see quite a few bands and really liked 2 of them. Check out Sons of Fathers and The Wheeler Brothers. You’re welcome.

There were food trucks everywhere! I love food trucks! And, these had fantastic food choices. But, I’m not good at eating while standing up and holding an umbrella (and Princess k with his paw in a cast can’t hold anything) so we decided not to get any food. They also had an ice cream food truck AND a 7-Eleven Slurpie truck! Heaven. Again, I couldn’t balance everything, so no Slurpie for me. Next time.

This was take 435. K kept making goofy faces. Way to go, k. I think he does this to me on purpose.

{d&k} were out running errands and stumbled upon these gems. K’s head was too big for his headband, haha. People were staring. It was awesome. If you can’t stop in the middle of the store, throw on awesome Halloween ears, and pose for a photo, we can.not be friends.

We also found Halloween costumes for the cats. Now, we do not dress them up. Normally. The dogs, yes. Cats, no. Until now. And, may I add, that k was okay with it!

I though Charlie should have the black and white bow tie because he’s already wearing a tuxedo. Then, k chimed in with, “Yea, and the blue tie will look great with Sebastian’s gray fur suit.” Wow. K is now a cat stylist. Bring your kitties over and k will send them home with a fabulous new outfit.

We also had to go to Target. Had.to. Damn you, Target and your cute items.

AND…guess what time it is?! CANDY CORN time!

Damn you, Target and your delicious candy corn, in many different shapes, sizes, and flavors. I just had to get them all.

It definitely felt like we did a lot more over the weekend, but the pictures don’t show that.  Hah.  I guess I didn’t take pictures of me doing laundry, walking the pups, cooking, and all those other “fun” things.  You’re welcome for that!

Thanks for stopping by!
Enjoy your day,

Sebastian the sneaky yarn thief

Sebastian (dog-cat #2) is driving me crazy!  He is obsessed with my yarn balls and will go to any length to get to them.  Lately, he has been throwing himself into the door of my office, where I keep the apparent crack-like-yarn-balls, and pulls all the yarn balls out of the yarn ball basket (really guys?  of course I have a special yarn ball basket.  I can’t believe you questioned that?!) and then chooses his favorite and brings it to me.  Brings it to ME!  Like I would be happy to have a dog-cat drool-slimed yarn ball in my hands.  Then, he goes running back to the office, his hippo-like gallops shaking the whole house, to get another yarn ball.  This time, he comes out of the office making these horrible dying-sea-lion noises, while the yarn ball is in his mouth, getting drooled on.  And then the hippo comes galloping back down the hall to me to drop the yarn ball at my feet.  Ew.  No thank you. Thankfully these are scraps of yarn, so no Etsy orders have been made with the slimy, dog-cat yarn (that is my disclaimer incase any future Etsy buyers are reading this).  So, I take all the yarn balls back to the yarn ball basket (stop laughing at me) and shut the door (that doesn’t latch, of course) and have a seat on the couch.  Sebastian comes over to sit next to me and nuzzles me, like he has done nothing wrong.  Minutes later, he’s back at it!  I hear his not-so-little 17 pound body hit the door with a huge thud! and then hippo gallops back down the hall to give ME back MY yarn ball.  This could go on for hours, if I let it.  Eventually I have to barricade the office door so he can’t get in, only to find that I’ve locked dog-cat #1 in there and he now has free reign on all of the yarn balls.  I have to take down the barricade, remove dog-cat #1 from the office, then put the barricade back up.  Meanwhile, Sebastian is sitting behind me watching me, probably memorizing how to take down the barricade for future reference.  That was all today, people.  All. today.

All I have to say is that Sebastian is lucky he’s cute.  Otherwise, I would open the back door and throw a yarn ball outside and watch him chase it.  Buh-bye dog-cat #2.

Enjoy your day,

Success!

Well, the drive across the country was a success!  We all arrived in one piece, including Elvis, who I thought for sure would get punt-kicked out the window as we drove across the state line.

The trip was pretty uneventful, which for us is a feat in and of itself.  We decided to drive straight through, instead of stopping in Memphis and staying over night.  We thought the pups and cats would get worked up being transported to a hotel and then back to the car.  The cats were sedated by a lovely little pink pill from the vet (HUGE shout out to West Toledo Vet for making our cross-country drive a peaceful one).  The pups slept pretty much the entire way and were so well-behaved, I wasn’t actually sure they were our dogs.  Weird.  But, no worries, today they are back to their devilish, selective listening selves.

The trip itself was supposed to take 18 hours, but we knew it would be longer with the pups.  We stopped 5 times (a few were the pups needing a break and a few were me.  Hehe, small bladder) and it ended up taking us 20 hours.  So, overall not bad.  It was a long time in the car, but k and I took turns driving every 4ish hours and that made the time go by pretty quickly.

Since we got in at 5am this morning, we slept the rest of the morning and then spent the day running errands and trying to get things ready around here for the movers to bring our stuff on Friday.  Yes, that’s right, Friday.  4 days from now.  I miss my stuff.  Sniff.  But, we did get a lot accomplished today, including finding ourselves a new mattress which will be delivered tomorrow! Woohoo.  So, even though we won’t have our bed frame until Friday, at least we won’t have to sleep on the air mattress all week (it is not fun when k gets off the air mattress and catapults me to the floor.  He finds it hilarious though.  Not funny k, not funny).   We did however strike out trying to find a baby gate in this ginormous city.  You’d think of the 2 Walmarts, a Target, a Petco, a PetSmart, and a handful of places we called, that one of those would have a baby gate to lock the pups in the kitchen for less than $100.  Nope.  None.  I can’t believe I am going to say this but, I was so sick of shopping today!  It was frustrating.  It was all my fault that I forgot to pack up the baby gates and left them in Toledo.  But, I didn’t think it would be that hard to find them here.  Thank goodness for Amazon!!  On a better note, our landlord told us we are allowed to paint (happy dance) so my week will now be filled with paint, paint, and more paint.  I love painting!!  So, this will make these 4 more days without our “stuff” easier to get through.

So, that pretty much sums up our last couple of days.  I just want to leave you with a little conversation from the road trip:

{d} – k, can you check on Sebastian?  He’s spent the last hour meowing and I think something is wrong.

{k} – Umm, yeah…he’s fine.

{d} – Why is he meowing so much then?

{k} – Well, he’s sort of upside down.  And I don’t think he can find his tail.

{d} – WHAT?!

{k} – Kitty crack.  He’s high.

{d} – Should I be worried.

{k} – Nope, he’s fine.

Enjoy your day!
