Another year has come and gone

I hope everyone had a wonderful New Year!  {d&k} spent NYE in, from the comfort of our couch.  We had a very lovely dinner that consisted of the oh-so-classy ice cream and beer.  But wait, we did class it up a bit with hot fudge and caramel.  There may have even been oreos (come on, it’s New Year’s Eve…why not bust out the oreos?!).  We watched some movies, cuddled with the pups, and had a fantastic night.  And, to prove that we are old, we stayed up long enough to watch the ball drop in Times Square, share a midnight kiss, and then we drug our tired tails to bed. Haha.  Two years ago we were lucky enough to spend NYE in New York City with our friends and nothing will top that NYE.  Nothing.  So why try?  Next year I’m thinking maybe we’ll travel somewhere warm and spend NYE on the beach?  Who’s with me?

Let’s take a quick look back at {d&k}s 2011:
— d opened up her very own Etsy shop, selling handmade, crochet items
— k auditioned to be the PA announcer for the Chicago Cubs
— {d&k} had their busiest summer ever, with 17 weddings to dj and d coordinated 15 weddings ({d&k} didn’t see each other at all)
— k announced the Lady Rockets during their WNIT championship victory
— k is offered a fantastic job in Dallas, and accepts
— {d&k} start their new adventure in Dallas

What {d&k} have to look forward to in 2012:
* k’s great new job
* d gets to grow Bee For The Day Dallas and build up her weddings
* Garrett Family vacation in North Carolina
* Visiting with family and friends when they come to Dallas
* Weekend trips back to Ohio to see friends and family
* Girls weekend in San Fransisco
* Enjoying this great, new city
* Spending all of our free time together (can you believe we actually have free time?!)

I also wanted to take a minute and share my business goals for 2012 with you all.  If I put these out there, I will hold myself accountable for these.  I read that if you write your goals down somewhere, you are more likely to accomplish them than if they were floating around in your head, unorganized.  So, this year I’m writing them down.  For everyone to see and help hold me accountable for them.  So, here they are:
1.  In 2011 I had 52 Etsy sales {happy dance}.  I would like to reach 100 by the end of 2012.
2.  I had a ton of sales outside of Etsy and I didn’t really keep track of them.  Bad d, bad.  I know.  But, I am setting a goal to track all outside sales this year.
3.  Have a booth in at least 1 craft/indy/art fair this year.  The reason I didn’t participate in any last year was because I didn’t have the time to make stock to sell.  This year, I have the time and I’ve already started making ear warmers!

What are some of your goals for 2012?  I’d love to help keep you accountable too!

Enjoy your day,
